Treatment of frozen shoulder and calcific tendonitis

Calcific tendonitis and frozen shoulder are examples of shoulder pain conditions which do not normally require surgery. Calcific tendonitis typically causes tenderness and pain during specific movements. Frozen shoulder (M75.0) typically causes pain and movement restriction.

If traditional treatment is not effective, a frozen shoulder can be treated by opening up the tight joint capsule through a capsulotomy procedure.
