Surgical treatment of sports injuries

Our hospital is ideally suited to meet the requirements of modern sports medicine. Most procedures are performed as keyhole procedures, and we use state-of-the-art techniques and equipment. This way, we ensure a good result and minimal tissue damage, allowing the athlete to quickly return to his or her sport.

Injuries in the most common problem areas (shoulder, back, knee, ankle, Achilles tendon and foot) are handled according to precise routines. Less common sports injuries (lower abdomen, groin, muscle injuries in, for instance, the thigh or the shin) are also in experienced hands. We have decades of experience of treating elite athletes. The techniques that ensure their quick recovery benefit amateurs as well.

Suitable rehabilitation is an essential part of the work to ensure an optimal result. We will offer you detailed rehabilitation instructions. When necessary, we can consult our physiotherapists and benefit from their extensive experience in postoperative care and rehabilitation for athletes.

The sports injuries that most commonly require surgical treatment are:

  • meniscus ruptures
  • knee cruciate ligament ruptures
  • knee cartilage damage
  • kneecap dislocations
  • shoulder dislocations
  • shoulder rotator cuff ruptures
  • acromioclavicular joint ruptures
  • chest muscle tendon ruptures
  • Achilles tendon ruptures
  • ankle sprains (aftermath)
  • ankle tendon ruptures
  • serious thigh muscle injuries
