Rheumatologist services

A rheumatologist investigates and treats different kinds of inflammatory joint diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, etc.), collagenosis (such as DLE and Sjögren's syndrome), polymyalgia rheumatic, and other conditions which cause pain in the musculoskeletal system (such as fibromyalgia and arthrosis).

Rheumatologists receive many patients who have been referred by other medical specialists or who have been transferred from specialist care to primary care monitoring in the public healthcare sector.

Rheumatologists often refer their patients for laboratory tests or X-ray examinations. The results are discussed during the following appointment.

Instructions

1.

Make an appointment online or by calling 09 7750 800. You can also make an appointment at the reception desk at any Diacor medical centre.

2.

If you have insurance that might cover the treatment, please bring your insurance information (company, insurance number) to your appointment.

3.

Please bring any relevant test results and case histories.

4.

When paying, you can also schedule appointments for any laboratory tests or X-ray examinations that your rheumatologist has prescribed for you.

Expenses

A private physician sets his or her own rates, so the prices may vary depending on how long the appointment takes, for instance. You can get information about a particular physician’s rates online or when you make an appointment.
A rheumatologist appointment of less than 30 minutes normally costs around 100 euros, but a Social Insurance Institution reimbursement of 16.50 euros is directly subtracted from the price. The customer pays 83.50 euros plus an administrative fee, which currently amounts to 17 euros. In this example, the customer therefore pays 100.50 euros for the visit. Any necessary examinations are billed separately.
