At our hospital, we offer you the services of pediatric surgeons and orthopaedists as well as a pediatric ear, nose and throat specialist.
For each procedure, preparations are made not only by the surgeon him- or herself but also by a physician who specialises in anaesthesia and pain relief (i.e. an anaesthesiologist) and a team of nurses. We carefully assess the child’s general physical condition as well as any individual risk factors. Learn more about the preparations for surgical procedures here.
The following conditions can be treated with surgery, when necessary:
- ear, throat and nose infections (grommet insertion, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy)
- umbilical or abdominal hernia
- undescended testicles
- inguinal hernia
- tight foreskin (phimosis)
We also perform gastroscopies on children.
The procedures are performed under general anaesthesia. In most cases, the child can be discharged from care the same day. You will be given detailed home care instructions, and if necessary, we will also book in follow-up appointments.
You can make an appointment with a paediatrician online or by calling 09 7750 800.
Please bring information about the child’s insurance and about any examinations he or she has had elsewhere.
If your child is referred for surgery, you can make an appointment for the procedure directly with the surgeon or by calling the hospital on 09 7750 8180. Before you come to the hospital, please make sure that you have an approved promissory note from your insurance company. You can schedule an appointment even if you do not yet have a promissory note.
Please read the hospital admission information and fill in the patient information form.
