Pediatric surgeon services

Pediatric surgery is a specialist field of medicine. Common reasons for seeking help from a pediatric surgeon include accident-related injuries and pain in the feet or legs. Pain in the knee or heel is particularly common. Different kinds of lumps and bumps also belong to the pediatric surgeon’s field of expertise. Furthermore, pediatric surgeons treat hernias, undescended testicles and incontinence.

Pediatric surgeons treat patients up to around 16 years of age. However, this upper age limit is not absolute, as children develop at different rates.

Pediatricians most commonly use X-rays and ultrasound examinations to diagnose their patients’ problems. Laboratory tests are sometimes also used. MRI scans are usually not performed on young children, as they cannot stay still long enough. Some problems require surgical treatment.

Make an appointment online or by calling 09 7750 800. You can also make an appointment at the reception desk at any Diacor medical centre.

If your child has received treatment or has been for follow-up visits elsewhere, please bring any relevant laboratory and X-ray results and case histories.

When paying, you can also schedule appointments for any additional examinations that the pediatrician has prescribed for your child.

A private physician sets his or her own rates, so the prices may vary depending on how long the appointment takes, for instance. You can get information about a particular physician’s rates online or over the phone when you make an appointment.
An appointment of less than 20 minutes normally costs around 90 €, but a Social Insurance Institution reimbursement of 13,50 € is directly subtracted from the price. The customer pays 76,50 € plus an outpatient clinic fee 17,90 €. Any necessary examinations are billed separately. Depending on your insurance, it is possible for the bill to be sent directly to your insurance company.
