Ankle keyhole surgery

Ankle keyhole surgery (arthroscopy) can be used to treat cartilage damage or remove scar tissue. It is also used as a diagnostic tool in cases of unexplained and persistent pain.

Some people have an extra bone in the back of the ankle. This bone may cause problems in certain sports or after an injury. In some cases, the bone must be removed through keyhole surgery. Surgery can also be used to remove loose bits of bone and cartilage or movement-restricting new bone growth on the shin or ankle bone.

Keyhole surgery in the back of the ankle is a demanding procedure which requires an experienced foot and ankle surgeon. Diacor’s specialist orthopaedic surgeons perform large numbers of ankle keyhole surgery procedures every year.
